Riyad KallaMemberMoving to OT > Gen, this has nothing to do with MyEclipse.
Suspect some java error, I’ve got jdk1.5.0_01, sun-j2sdk1.5.0, jre1.5.0_01, sun-j2re1.5.0 and sablevm installed(!). Yes, I’m a newbie, but I haven’t found any information about this error. Thanks.
I would highly suggest using the -vm command line argument to force Eclipse to startup with a specific VM:
/opt/eclipse/eclipse -vm /opt/sun-jdk1.4.2_06/bin/javafor example.
OleMortenMemberok, thanks, I tried that many times… After a removal, and installation via apt-get install eclipse-sdk, it suddenly worked. The previous installation was done via eclipse-SDK-3.0.1-linux-gtk.zip, don’t know what went wrong…
I’m so happy now, I love eclipse. You’re doing a great job, keep it up!

Ole, we would love to take credit for Eclipse, but you should thank the OTI/IBM guys over at http://www.eclipse.org. We are the authors of the MyEclipse IDE plugin that adds J2EE development tools to the base Eclipse install. If you are doing straight Java development and no web development, then it is likely you are using the base Eclipse install.
Unless I misunderstand and you ARE a MyEclipse user?
