    Hi,

I am trying to install Eclipse 8.5 using the all-in1-installer on Windows XP, win32. I have an earlier version of Eclipse 7.X but wanted to try out 8.5

Once the installer loads, and gets to the point where I want to install a ‘new copy’ of the software, it chooses the location under program files C:\Program Files\Genuitec

I get the following error and it won’t proceed:

Profile com.poweredbypulse.profile-0-rb-578452-1275073236642 is already installed; unable to proceed

    What to do??
    Thanks
    Bowden

    Bowden,

Can you take a look at this post – http://www.myeclipseide.com/PNphpBB2-printview-t-25428-start-0.html and let me know how this works for you.

    Joy,
Thanks for the related post. Looks like there are 1 options:

    1) Run pulse_explorer to restart the installation run.

I followed the steps indicated, when I get to the step to Login as Anonymous, and click next, I get connection error. I am behind a firewall (via auto proxy pac). When I ran pulse the first time, there was a box for checking use default connection settings or override to an HTTP proxy. I wanted to try the HTTP proxy, but Pulse no longer brings up the particular tab.

How do I get pulse to re-display those connection settings?

    2) Download all-in-1 installer and install new copy.

I tried this originally, and got the Pulse Error reported above.

    Bowden,

I would recommend you a clean re-install. Please follow below steps –
    1. Run the uninstaller.
    2. Make sure the MyEclipse Install Directory has been completely removed
2.1. Pulse Install Directory, on XP it’s under C:\Program Files in \Pulse or \Genuitec, and on Vista it’s under <USER.HOME>\AppData\Local and then under \Pulse or \Genuitec again
    3. Then make sure the pulse2.locator file under <USER.HOME> is erased as well
    4. Next download and install pulse from http://www.poweredbypulse.com
Let me know how this works for you.

    Best.
