Just downloaded the complete installation bundle this morning and while installing got the following error:

Could not create directory /Library/Genuitec/MyEclipse 8.5/dropins.

    Platform Mac OSX, snow leopard.

(if only you could copy paste from the pulse error window)

    tenersen,

Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. Can you answer couple of questions for me to get to the root cause?
    1. Are you trying to install using all-in-one installer / pulse / archive update site on top of eclipse classic?
    2. If you are using the all-in-one installer can you please confirm the file size and md5sum matches that mentioned in the download site?
    3. Can you check if you have dropins folder located at /Library/Genuitec/MyEclipse 8.5?
    4. In case you have downloaded using pulse. Can you try to re-install and run?

    Joy,

The solution was to move my 7.5 installation out of the way. I literally had to “mv /Libraries/Genuitec /Libraries/Genuitec2” and then proceed with the installation.

I was using the all-in-one installer for mac osx. I had a previous install of 7.5 in the “Libraries/Genuitec” directory. The size of the checksums matched, and there was no existing directory called MyEclipse 8.5.

Seems like the two platforms cannot co-exist on the same box.

    tenersen,

Good to hear you are all set. I shall escalate your findings to dev team members to research this further. Thank you for posting your findings here.

    Best.
