TheProphetMemberI recently unistalled ME 7.1 and after a restart I am unable to install ME 7.5.
I get an error stating “Error Preparing Installer” Could not find requested software [com.genuitec.puse2.client.launcher.group]
I rmeoved pulse and ME! Anyone know how to get past this issue?
support-joyMemberTheProphet,
Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. There could be many reasons you are facing this issue –
1. Residue of ME 7.1 still left out
2. Downloaded ME 7.5 installer is either corrupted/incomplete
3. If you have upgraded from ME 7.1 to ME 7.5 directly, it could result in this issue. Reason being – base eclipse has changed from ME 7.1 to ME 7.5. ME 7.1 is based on Eclipse 3.4.2 whereas ME 7.5 is based on Eclipse 3.5.Can you answer few queries, which will help me narrow down to the root cause?
1. Can you copy and paste your installation details? You can get it from MyEclipse IDE menu options click on MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details. If you cannot get this, can you copy and paste myeclipse.ini file
2. What is your OS? What is the version?
3. Can you attach screenshots in support of this issue?
4. Also attach error log files. Pulse log files are located here ~Genuitec\Common\logs and MyEclipse error log files are located here [your workspace dir]/.metadata/.logI would recommend you to perform a clean install. Please follow below steps –
1. Run the uninstaller.
2. Make sure the MyEclipse Install Directory has been completely removed
2.1. Pulse Install Directory, on XP it’s under C:\Program Files in \Pulse or \Genuitec, and on Vista it’s under \AppData\Local and then under \Pulse or \Genuitec again
3. Then make sure the pulse2.locator file under is erased as well
4. Next install ME 7.5 using any of the pptions listed here – http://www.myeclipseide.com/index.php?name=Downloads&req=viewsdownload&sid=31
Please ensure that the download size of the installer and md5sum matches that mentioned in the download site.
Let me know how this works for you.
