    Hi,

I am using MyEclipse 8.6.1 on Windows XP – SP2 installed on my Laptop.

Want to start with -> DB Browser & Explorer for reverse engineering to create Entity relationship diagram. But while creating new MySQL database connection error comes. Driver class not found.

I have set the classpath as C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.1\mysql-connector-java-5.0.8-bin.jar . But still I am getting the same error.

As I am selecting template for MySQL (Connector / J) there are no default parameters are populated as expected. so what the parameters values could be like :
Driver Name, Connection URL (jdbc:mysql://<hostname>[<:3306>]/<dbname>), User Name, Password, Driver JARs to add and Driver Classname.

    Awaiting for quick help.

    Thanks & Warm Regards.

    ajaym,

Attached is the screenshot which shows the parameter values.

    1) The parameters will not get populated when you select the template MySQL (Connector / J). You need to punch in the details.

    2) Click on Add Jars and point to the location of mysql-connector-java-5.0.8-bin.jar to add it to the Driver Jars in the window as shown in the screenshot.

    3) Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Make sure MySQL is started in this window as a service.

    4) Click on Test Driver button to check if the database connection is successfully established.

Let us know how this works for you.
