    Hi,

I just installed MyEclipse 10.7 on Windows 8.

I first got an error message that told me it wouldn’t start because the configuration folder was not writeable, so I made it writeable.
    C:\Program Files\MyEclipse\MyEclipse 10\configuration

Now MyEclipse starts, but it gives an error message after starting. It appears to still work. But what’s the issue and how do I make it go away?

    ‘CheckLicensesAndNotify’ has encountered a problem.

An internal error occurred during: “CheckLicensesAndNotify”.

    wglass,

    1) Can you please let us know how did you install MyEclipse at “C:\Program Files” ? Because, When installing on Windows Vista or Windows 7 or Windows 8, the MyEclipse installer will not allow installation to the C:\Program Files directory (or any sub-directory of it). The following FAQ explains the reasoning :

    2) Can you please let us know how did you install MyEclipse ? Is it using Offline installer / Pulse / Archived Update site ?

    3) Can you please reinstall MyEclipse 10.7 to a different location other than “C:\Program Files” and let us know whether you can replicate the issue ?

    Hi,

The problem is solved – it was a permission issue. I made the entire installed directory writeable and it worked.

To answer your questions – I used the offline installer, and I’m not sure how it ended up in that directory.
