Error with JSP Editor

    Hi, I have a problem

    When I open the principal.jsp a jsp file with Eclipse 6.0 MyEclipse JSP Visual Designer I get the following error:

    Can you switch to a new workspace by going to File > Switch Workspace > Other > c:\temp, create a new project, add a jsp file to it and try opeing the file. Do you still get the null pointer exception.

    I had a similar error that happened with some JSP’s but not others. Eclipse would totally close down. It was trying to open the JSP’s using either the JSF or the JSP Visual Designer. I started opening the JSP’s with the MyEclipse JSP Editor instead and the problem went away.

    Hi jstrike,
    Can you paste a sample jsp file here for me which fails to open in the JSP visual Designer. I can test this at my end and file a bug if the problem exists.

    How can disable the jsp visual design ??? Also to me Eclipse would totally close down

    You can go to Windows > Preferences > General > Editor > File Association and change the default editor for *.jsp
