When running building a new project using the Enterprise Application Project wizard, I get errors. I believe they only occur when unchecking “use default location” and supplying my own path.

A message box comes up saying “!NewProjectCreationWizard.op_error.message! See error log for more details.”

The web and EJB projects are created, but not the application project.

    The log says:

I know this was an issue before 2.5.0, but I haven’t seen it in the production builds again. What platform, Eclipse version and build id (Help > About Eclipse Platform), MyEclipse version, and JDK version are you running? Were the external locations on your local file system, or on a remote file system?

I get an extremely similar stack trace when attempting to create a new Web Application. I’m also not using the default location. My location is a local file system (c:\dev\foo……)
The eclipse build ID is: 200306271545, MyEclipse is 2.5.1, jdk is 1.4.2, win xp.

    Kev,

I just retested by creating a webproject in a non-default directory (C:\temp\…) and had no problem at all. This is on Windows 2000, MyEclipse 2.5.1, Eclipse 2.1.1, JDK 1.4.1_02. The internal error is really troubling. Did you install Eclipse 2.1.1 cleanly, or upgrade an existing installation? If you upgraded, can you try installing a clean version in parallel and install MyEclipse on it and see if the problem persists? Also, are you positive you’re using JDK 1.4.2 to launch Eclipse? Could you open a shell and do a ‘java -version’ just to verify?

I can’t remember exactly how I got it – maybe due to an error with an overlapping project – I was trying to follow one of you suggestions for converting a Java Project to a Web Project by creating a new Web Project one level higher. Not sure – I’ve tried a LOT of different things this afternoon in an attempt to use MyEclipse with my existing code 🙁

Sorry about the problem your experiencing. As an experiment can you try creating a new Web Project near the same location. Make sure its path does not overlap with either an existing project or the workspace dir.

If this works can you then try copying the code from your problematic project into it an see if problem’s still exist.
