    Hi,
I’m using codemix only on one laptop always within the same OS and even the same eclipse installation but I have to frequently revoke and unlock access because the system is detected as different systems.
What is the reason for that and how can I avoid that?

    Best,
    Oliver

    Oliver,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue. We are seeing problems with activation in some Linux based machines for online/personal licenses.
The Sales team will email you a key based license soon.In the Update License dialog, look for ‘Have a commercial license? See other options’, click on ‘other options’, enter the license details and activate. See this FAQ for more details about activating the license key : https://www.genuitec.com/docs/setup/licensing-codemix/

Apologies for inconvenience caused. Please let us know if you see any issues with the new key.

Just checking if you have received the new key based license.
Please let us know if you still see problems.

Hi there. I am experiencing the exact same problem. Your personal license seems to use the IP address of the machine, which on different networks would be different. This is rather annoying as I have to revoke and reactivate my license every time I move to a different network connection. This is very annoying. Can you please fix the way that your licenses are detected? Using the IP address is just a very bad idea.

Do you mind clarifying if you are running on Linux?

To be clear, we do not rely on IP addresses as part of license detection, however, we do use other system information to determine an obfuscated machine fingerprint. We can provide you a Key-based license which has a slightly different enforcement algorithm which you’ll receive by email shortly to avoid this problem.

That said, any data you can provide would be invaluable. If easier, you can reach us by Live Chat as well from inside CodeMix.

I’m on a Windows Surface (Windows 10) and a MacBook. On either of these two platforms, the only change is that I change the network that I connect to, and then I need to revoke and re-access my license.

    Herman,

Just checking – were you able to activate using the key based license? Do you still see the problem when you switch the network?
