I have installed CFEclipse plugin on MyEclipse 5.0 tha I use for ColdFusion Development. However for certain .cfm files I want to attach those to MyEclipse editor. One example is a circuit.xml.cfm. I have added this file to Preference -> File Association and configure MyEclipse XML Editor as default and CFEclipse. However when I open a file, it shows me te text in normal format with no highlighted xml.

    Any thoughts?

If you right click on the file and go to Open With, which editor has the black dot next to it (default)? It might be opening with the text editor accidentally.

I have CFEclipse being marked as the default editor even though in the File Association Preferences, I set MyEclipse XML Editor as the default one. Any advice?

I think when you override a file with the open with command it gets it’s own preference saved, just try opening it with the editor you like, it should open with the correct one from then on.

Also, I would suggest adding your cfm.xml files to the XML content type on the General > Content Types preference page. This will create the corresponding File association automatically, so you may want to remove the file association you added before doing this to avoid complications.

    Hope this helps,
    Brian.
