kbluntMemberI am playing around with MobiOne. I want to make sure it’ll do what I need it to do before I buy it. I created an app, and I like it. But after a while when I click on a button that should just be a web link I get an error:
Download Failed
This file cannot be downloaded.Any ideas what I’m doing wrong. Also the link will work until I close the app and open it back up.
Also, the links are linking to RSS feeds

support-michaelKeymasterQ: when the rss feed link works properly for you and you invoke it does the mobile safari rss reader open properly?
I’m not sure exactly what might be happening but let’s try turning off the application cache and see if that fixes things. Do the following:
1) in the outline view, select the top node. This is the design form. See screenshot below
2) Open the Properties Editor is not opened and change the Offline Support property to No offline support
See attachment turn-off-appcache.png
3) Retest your UI and see if problem still existsIf this does not work I’ll be glad to investigate your design if you send it to me. Send to support at genuitec dot com, include the word MobiOne in the title and it will route to me.

kbluntMemberThank you for looking at this. I sent an email with the link and I attached the mobi file. The RSS reader does open when it works and making the change you suggested did not resolve the issue.

Thanks for sharing your UI design with me. I’ve been running it this morning on my iphone without issue (yet). Is there a sequence of actions that you have identified result in this download failure? The mechanism used to connect to the RSS feed URL is based on common practices for programmatically loading remote content. So I’m trying to figure out if the server is timing out or a similar type of error that may occur during content loading.
support-michaelKeymasterOK. I can replicate the problem you are seeing if I save your mobile webapp to the iphone homescreen. Seems there is some issue with the mobile safari RSS reader when a webapp is running in standalone mode (i.e., launched from home screen). I’ll keep researching for a workaround to the problem. Part of of the issue is that in standalone mode there is no native back button support which might be the rationale for its n/a. Will follow up as soon as I know more.
kbluntMemberThank you for looking into this. I await to hear your answer

Not able to find a solution for this issue yet. We will soon provide an RSS-reader component in about 2-3 months or less hopefully that will make this a non-problem. But until then we are seeking alternative solutions. -
