In windows version I was used to clicking open file and a dialog opens and then I can pastt the path of the file I have obtained from the dos window and the file used to get opened. It was very easy and I could navigate faster.

However what I see in My Eclipse on Ubutnu is when I click Open File, I see the following window

As you can see I cannot find a place to paste the folder location for example no place to type
    or paste

    /home/devolpmentuser/abc.html

Is this a Ubuntu issue, if so how to fix it any idea ?

I found the answer to this one. Since I am using 32 bit MyEclipse, I am facing this issue I think.

    Narahari,

The file chooser is just what Ubuntu gives you. This is what I get with 64bit Ubuntu also. The only difference I see is a slightly different button to the top left of the window (just to the left of the buttons that show the current location). If you click that button, you should get a text box where you can type the location and it will autocomplete (just hit the tab key if the autocompletion is what you want, to get the cursor to the end of that autocompletion).
