I’m experiencing a very strange problem:
I need to replace an occurrence of a word in many different JSP files and I’ve tried to use the Search&Replace function of the IDE but the result is very bad.
The new word replaces a random portion of text nearby the old word.

I’m using MyEclipse 8.6.1-20101117, Ubuntu 10.10 X86_64, jdk 1.6.0_18_X86_64-
The installation of MyEclipse is managed by Pulse 3.

I am afraid, I cannot reproduce this issue at my end. What is the search criteria you are using, also what is the word you are searching and trying to replace- does it contain any special characters? Are you using file-search / java-search? What is the scope of the search – workspace/selected resources/… ?

The words contain just normal English characters

I’ve tried the same version of Myeclipse (8.6.1) on Windows 7 x64 and I got the same problem!

It’ seems to be a very big problem for MyEclipse. There are other people that experienced it?

Now I tried with STS 2.5.2 and everything has gone ok!

Probably it is a MyEclipse bug. How can I submit a bug?
