What is the problem with FTP and the Eclipse world??
People have been asking for simple FTP upload/download support for YEARS
and it never gets done or completed or working.

Please support the users who cant develop this stuff but really need it
plus it seems SO OBVIOUS.

I agree. I am tearing my hair out because I typed in the password wrong to an ftp site and now I cannot export or sync to this site.

This is the best option for ftp, using Export project to an ftp site, then synchronising using Team Syncronisation view. Be careful and don’t try to change the password ever.

I have found http://dev.eclipse.org/newslists/news.eclipse.platform/msg28982.html which suggests using “the Target>Site Explorer view” but finding this could be great fun as I cannot. Further seraches suggest that ftp isn’t glamourous enough for anyone to be interested in developing it.

The Aptana stuff has an FTP sync, but I am not sure that I want to install two sets of Eclipse extensions on all my developers machines.

[There have been conficts in the past with things like RadRails and the PHPlipse tools.]
