Firstly let me say, a brilliant program! I have been looking for this kind of WYSIWYG cross platform solution for a long time and I believe HTML, CSS3 and Java a la Phonegap is the way to go. Although relatively new to app development I have spent a lot of time with Eclipse/Android SDK, Phonegap and Jquery Mobile and could not see a huge future or practicality in designing the interface in code only for someone like me who comes from another field. Bought and tried Basic4Android too but obviously, no iOS, poor looking interface design and no desire to learn and try and master Visual C basic, so thanks and after a brief trail I had no hesitation in buying your program.

Just a few questions and feature requests:

    1) I’ve seen a lot of mention of imminent Google map and Html widgets. They seem have been in the pipeline for some time and I realise you’ve had a major priority in introducing Android, but when are we likely to see these? Going to be great and invaluable additions!

    2) I have seen mention of Phonegap 1.1.0 as your incorporated version, is this true? A tutorial for incorporating Phonegap Apis (camera, gps etc.) in apps and particularly the Javascript option for the buttons would be great?

    3) If the test centre could directly load at least Android .apks that would be brilliant. An ability too to locally compile Android apps with the SDK and test with a physical device via usb would be great (say like Basic4Android). I’ve seen mention that some major improvements to the Test Centre are due?

    4) A sample test app that new users could use just to go through the whole process of the cloud App Center creation process would be great because I see a lot of questions about this and of course you need to make an app before this can ever be tested.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,

We really appreciate your positive feedback,I’ve shared it with the team. For your questions 1,2 and 4, they are getting some attention now and expect some updates over the next 4 weeks. We have some improvements coming in the fall for #3 that we will share details of later.

Thanks Octavio for your quick response, all sounds good!

A couple of things I forgot to add: I seriously looked at Sencha Architect as well but it is not really as WYSIWYG as claimed and doesn’t have your windows based iOS ability, which I think is unique and it’s $399, so MobiOne is tremendous value too!

The clear documentation (local offline would be great), support and tutorials are fantastic too! Too many times elsewhere documentation and tutorials that should be simple end up sounding like a foreign language, so top marks for that!

One other request, which has been mentioned here before, is the ability to import and customise themes. I think a truly great thing with MobiOne is the clean, standards compliant and easy x platform design that you can do but extra functionality in this area would be a killer.

Don’t get me wrong I appreciate the scale and speed of your development of this program and I’m patiently looking forward to it.

    Many thanks,

    Steve
