Upgrading my PC and Laptop to Windows 10 seems to be incompatible with GapDebug. Both were working properly under Windows 8. Now, when I launch GapDebug it sees my Android device (and can take screenshots of it) but it doesn’t recognize the debuggable app or any vof the open Chrome windows on the device.

I neglected to mention that chrome://inspect/#devices shows everything on the device so this is definately a GapDebug/Win10 issue.

Joining here as well, not working on my Windows 10 as well. Clicking on a Cordova app shows a blank page instead of the debugging tools.. 🙁

    Hi nickredding and TrueIceCold,

I can’t reproduce the problem you reported. I believe the problem can be connected with Windows firewall that doesn’t allow GapDebug.exe to access internet sites. Could you please ensure that GapDebug.exe is in the list of whitelisted apps?

OK that was the problem. I added gapdebug.exe to the white list, rebooted, and all is fixed.

You might want to consider that I have two machines–one upgraded to Windows 10 (and already had gapdebug installed) and the other with a fresh install of Windows 10 and gapdebug. Both left gapdebug off the firewall whitelist. It must have been on the list before the Windows 10 upgrade. So perhaps the installation should be modified to address this, either by entering gapdebug in the whitelist or telling the user to do so.

Great to hear the problem was firewall related. We will look into what is possible with whitelisting. I will be running a test shortly with a win 10 upgrade.

We have some improvements available in a beta-1 version of the next GapDebug release (2015 update 5). We are looking for users to test drive the fixes: https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/gapdebug-2015-update-5-2-1-0-beta-1-available/
