I know people has asked for ant build files before so I though I’d ask again 🙂

Having tried netbeans recently again the one thing I liked was how it generates ant build files. It creates one
“netbeans private” build file and one for the developer to add to.
No, it was not enough to switch!

But it would be nice to hacve a feature where myeclipse can generate skeleton build files based on project dependencies and project settings.

    thanks for a great product!

Thank you for the kind words, we absolutely agree that Ant build generation would be a nice feature and I just have to say with a certain level of certainty it will be added at some point, I just can’t say when. Management always has to look at outstanding feature/bug fix requests and optimize the time of the developers (and cost to the company) on which ones should get done. I can never predict that they will decide, but so far their decisions have taken us to the moon, so I’ll keep trusting it 😀

Can this get added to the voting booth page? I know I’d vote for it at least a dozen times…

No need to vote on it, it’s one of those “it *will* get done when the proper project structure and code is in place” type items. We use voting to determine what features people want when we aren’t sure how to prioritize them.

Glad it’s coming sometime (can’t be a moment too soon). Please make sure your “smart deployment” for webapps is part of the ant support as well as the (what I hope is coming soon) fat jar support.
