Fredrik LindqvistParticipantFirst a question;
Can I define an ondemand package to not include any policy changes to the existing installation?Typically I have a usecase where I may want to add certain preferences, but the target users could have different policies.
Secondly I’m unable to install a test on-demand package I’ve made. I just get error when I try to add it using an update site. This is the error I get as the update manager checks for dependencies.
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found. sdc-supportMemberHello Fredik.
For your first question, if you define the Security Policy to allow everything it won’t change what it’s already there.
For your second issue. This is likely because you are trying to add the on-demand package to either an 3.8.1 or 4.2.1 eclipse package. To be able to add on-demand package you need to download the 3.8.1 and/or 4.2.1 packs to get the options offered in the admin console and repromote the ondemand package. To get the packages you can use the link “Get Packages” on the admin console on the on-demand main section. Once you install the required packages you need to select those versions on the Software Tab of the on-demand package.
If you need further assistance please let me know.
Best Regards.

Fredrik LindqvistParticipantSo my setup right now is that I have software packs för 3.7.2 and 3.6.2
I have created an IDE package based on Eclipse 3.7.2 Java EE.
The on-demand secure delivery package was first configured to work with all Eclipse versions, but now I just marked the 3.7.2 target checkbox. All changes have been promoted.
Now when I try I get a different error message:
Cannot complete the install because some dependencies are not satisfiable Software being installed: Settings för A 1.0.0.c0000004t201211261057 (ondemand.9915-cyD-1000 1.0.0.c0000004t201211261057) Software currently installed: Eclipse JEE 1.0.0.c0000001t201211221720 (package.6582-gCt-5959.windows.x86 1.0.0.c0000001t201211221720) Cannot satisfy dependency: From: Settings för A 1.0.0.c0000004t201211261057 (ondemand.9915-cyD-1000 1.0.0.c0000004t201211261057) To: secure.delivery.ondemand ondemand.9915-cyD-1000 [1.0.0.c0000004t201211261057] Cannot satisfy dependency: From: Settings för A 1.0.0.c0000004t201211261057 (ondemand.9915-cyD-1000.3_7_2.windows.x86 1.0.0.c0000004t201211261057) To: com.genuitec.pulse.client.delivery.package.runtime.ui.ide 0.0.0 Cannot satisfy dependency: From: Eclipse JEE 1.0.0.c0000001t201211221720 (package.6582-gCt-5959.windows.x86 1.0.0.c0000001t201211221720) To: com.genuitec.pulse.client.delivery.package.runtime.ui.ide [4.4.0.v201207251400]
sdc-supportMemberHello Fredrik.
For what I can see you are trying to add the On-demand plugin to a SDC Eclipse installation, and this is not possible. The On-demand plugin is designed to provide the functionality that and SDC Eclipse installation already has to a Vanilla Eclipse installation. In other words your SDC Eclipse installation already has all the functionality, there is no need to add the On-demand plugin.
Best Regards.

Dose123MemberThe typically usage flow would be if the SDC server is deployed on one server and we would like to move it to another one.
If there is one directory we could copy that would contain all the configuration, then that would work too.
