    Hello,

I just installed and am trying the 30 day trial. I am having difficulty to find tutorials on Creating first web app OR a tutorial on installing AWS Beanstalk server.

I hope to move from NetBeans to MyEclipse subscription.

In NetBeans, getting AWS Beanstalk is an automatic and easy procedure with an instructional tutorial.

In NetBeans, there are many tutorials all over the web as well as on youtube.

My fear is that after spending many hours, I discover that MyEclipse has certain challenges that make it extremely difficult to actually get started, similar to JDeveloper in getting AWS server set up.

Please anyone, is this the case with MyEclipse? I simply do not have the time to discover that the very basics are extremely difficult to accomplish without a lot of effort.

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I found Using JSF for Web Applications at

Following step one resulted in a Warning:

Classpath entry com.genuitec.runtime/com.genuitec.generic_7.0 will not be exported or published. Runtime ClassNotFoundExceptions may result.

Any thoughs? Any suggestions? Quick Fix only suggests to:

Exclude the associated raw classpath entry from the set of potential publish/export dependencies
    or
Mark the associated raw classpath entry as a publish/export dependency.

Still have not discovered ANY tutorial or documentation that allows a connection between MyEclipse and AWS Elastic Beanstalk.

Getting started with AWS Elastic Beanstalk is pretty straightforward. Since Amazon writes their own plugins the first step is just to install them. The web page with all the instructions is here.

That has tutorials and gives you the update site for the plugins. To install the plugins:

    1. Launch MyEclipse
    2. Select Help > Install from Site…
    3. Enter this update site: https://aws.amazon.com/eclipse/
    4. Configure it as in the screenshot I attached
    5. Follow all the wizard prompts and allow it to restart.

Once MyEclipse restarts you’ll see a dialog asking for your AWS login credentials. Fill that in to connect to your AWS severs. Once you’ve done that, select Window > Perspective > Open Perspective > Other > AWS Management. From that point on, Amazon’s tutorials will be the best source for info about the AWS tools specifically.

YEA Buddy…. that is what I am talking about Todd !

    Make me a customer! Please…

OK, I went through the eclipse AWS plugin before with Eclipse. What I believe you are telling me, of which I read that the SAME plugins that work for Eclipse also works for MyEclipse?

I think the AWS plugin was OLD but shall try it with MyEclipse.

Are there any more tutorials or videos of using MyEclipse to create JSF pages?
Or, will the Eclipse tutorials and videos also work in using MyEclipse IDE?

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

That is correct. Amazon writes it’s own tools for a variety of IDEs, Eclipse being one of them. Since it’s in their best interest to keep those tools current and coordinated with their server capabilities everyone just leaves the updates for those particular features to them.

I think the AWS plugin was OLD but shall try it with MyEclipse.

The current ones were released in late Aug and early Sept of 2016 so they’re pretty fresh.

Are there any more tutorials or videos of using MyEclipse to create JSF pages?

The best tutorial is here: https://www.genuitec.com/products/myeclipse/learning-center/web/myeclipse-jsf-tutorial/
I just re-ran it and didn’t run into any issues.
However, you can also just download and install a variety of sample projects for testing directly from the MyEclipse Dashboard view by clicking the ‘install’ buttons or from MyEclipse > Examples On-Demand

Or, will the Eclipse tutorials and videos also work in using MyEclipse IDE?

The tutorials that Amazon has for AWS in Eclipse will be the same. However, our JSF support is quite a bit more powerful than Eclipse so you should have a look at our full list of JSF topics here: https://www.genuitec.com/?s=JSF

Todd, this may be off topic. Is there a command FORMAT to structure the code, like in NetBeans?

Right click format and the code is formatted correctly as to placement.

Sure. You can see the key-bindings for commands at Preferences > General > Keys. Generally, formatting is Shift+Cmd+F. To see how to configure all the different formatters, type ‘format’ in the filter field at the top of the Preferences dialog and you’ll see where all the various language formatting settings can be tweaked.

The returned 65 results. I am going to go through all of them beginning this Sunday.

    Q. What is the optimal windows 7 system (cpu, ram, etc…) for running MyEclipse (ME) ?
