Sorry, your issue is not clear. Can you please mention what exactly is missing ? Can you please mention what exactly this means – “decorations containing the version” ? Please attach the screenshot of the issue to help us visualize the issue.
The Git label decorations can be switched on globally in the Preference Menu (Window > Preferences) under General > Appearance > Label Decorations.
More detailed settings can be done in the Preferences under Team > Git > Label Decorations.
Attached is a scrrenshot that shows the settingw correct in the Preferences but no decorations in the Packages Explorerer listing.

Sorry that you are facing this issue. We could not replicate the issue at our end.
> Can you please recheck whether the GIT configuration is there for the project ?
> Is the Git label decorations switched on in the Preference Menu (Window > Preferences) under General > Appearance > Label Decorations ?
> Can you try creating a new workspace and check whether you can replicate the issue in the new workspace ?
> Can you please mention what exactly you have done before the Git decorations disappeared ?
