This file is much, much too important to use the default XML editor. I am talking about a Tree/Preferences type view of the XML file. Didn’t there use to be one in an older release?

The Source tab should be smart enough to look up class names when ctrl-space is used, it should support a ctrl-click to jump to the class, and it should validate class names where possible.

    thanks

Either the Grid tab or Outline view should give you this… if you mean something else, please explain.

Already filed. We are very pro-autocomplete around here.

I am looking for something like the PDE manifest.mf editor.

Here are a few examples from the EasyStruts project:

I know of a few other Eclipse based products that have screenshots of this type of editor on their website. If you want, I can send you links to those pictures for more specific examples.

    thanks

I understand, thank you. We have something like this planned for web.xml, struts and JSF down the road. No ETA yet.
