Congratulation for your new release !
I purchased your product (2.7 GA) today. I had used your product for sometime and like its simplicity and use of eclipse platform. Having said that, it is no time for MyEclipse team to relax. The tool is still in its “infancy” compared to other commercial products from Borland, IBM and Exadel Studio.

In the next 2.8 release I would really like the MyEclipse team to
    concentrate on
    a) Enhancement of RAD tool for struts development.
    1) Good user interaction :
I was fairly dissapointed with the lack of features like drag &
drop in the flow view, ability to delete or re-position the
components etc in the new release. I know more is coming on
2.8 release. I would wait for it impatiently.

    2) Addition of JSF

    b) RAD tools for Database Persistence & E-R data modelling tool
There are a lot of users who uses persistence frameworks like Hibernate, Castor etc for which they need E-R (Entity Relation ) modelling tool to do object-to-database mapping and generate config files.

I would like MyEclipse team to focus on RAD tools & features because its this feature which separates it from other non-commercial or opensource project. Otherwise most developers would be happy with tools like XDoclet and Lomboz.

Thanks for the insightful feedback. Productivity is our main driver here. With 2.7 GA, you can go from nothing to debugging a fully functional (though simple) struts application in less than 10 minutes.

The things you bring up are exactly what we’ll be focusing on going forward. The Flow View is still highly experimental, but it’ll get very good in 2.8. Hang in there and give us some time and we’ll continue to deliver what you need to be productive.

Thanks for such prompt reply. U have an incredible support.
More-ever what I like about MyEclipse is that it listens to the current needs of developers and thinks in the same direction.
This could be a JBuilder killer !
