    Hello,

I am trying to complete the Hibernate tutorial and have run into a possible problem with the Hibernate configuration editor. When I open the “MyEclipse Hibernate Config Editor” associated with a Hibernate config file, the headers for all three sections are present, but the only controls visible are the radio buttons for the “Use JDBC Driver/Use JNDI Datasource” choice. (At this point, the “DB Connect Profile” had already been configured and associated with the Hibernate configuration in a previous editing session). After selecting the “Design” tab and then switching back to the “Configuration” tab, the “Database Connection Details” section of the editor is visible, but there are still no buttons on the right side of the form next to the “Properties” and “Mappings” sections.

If I close the IDE with this form open and restart it, only the section headers and descriptions are visible. After toggling the “Design” tab, and then the “Configuration” tab as described above, all the elements of the form appear. This behavior is repeatable.

    Here is my installation summary:

I deleted the logs as described in the forum instructions and there are no errors after multiple IDE startups. I updated the Nvidia 7600 drivers on the laptop the IDE is installed on and ensured that the Vista Ultimate OS has the current patches. Is there anything else I can check?

Thanks for taking a look at this issue. I can work around the problem, so I don’t think it is a showstopper.

Are you on a 64-bit Vista install by chance? We are tracking another rendering issue on Vista 64-bit (but not on 32-bit) as well…

    Hi R. Kalla,

Yes, the Vista OS is 64 bit, and now that you mention it, I also have problems viewing some of the property sheets associated with the build path functionality. I didn’t say anything about it before because I can’t figure out way around it, much less a way to replicate it.

    Hope This Helps,

    JJ

    JJ,
It sounds like we have some rendering problems to look into on Windows Vista 64-bit, I will file a bug in our issue tracker for this. Sorry for the trouble.
