I have the same problem as markcoth with Hibernate many-to-one mapping.

Is the bug planned to be fixed in the next version?

We have done work to correct this in 4.1, the changes should be available in the Milestone 2 release, please give it a try and let us know as soon as it is released (no firm ETA yet)
