Woo.. nice new webtools editors. They look and perform great so far.. One minor feature that would make my life much easier, is if you could highlight the matching element in the ‘tag based’ editors (ie: xml & html ). I realize the side bar has a colour bar that indicates the scope of the current element, but it would be great if the entire scope inside the editor itself gained a background colour with the line containing the matching element a darker shade of said background colour. If that doesn’t make sense I can try to clarify my request..
I’m hoping it wouldn’t be too hard to implement since the info’s all there, but hilighting the matching element is more important than colouring the body..

ivar, can you clarify? Originally I thought you were asking for tag matching, but then it sounds like you want the entire tag scope “highlighted” by using a slightly different background color to indicate the tag scope the caret is in… is this correct?

    Very cool request IMO…

Originally I was asking for better (or at least more ‘in your face’) tag matching than the existing little bar on the side… but as I wrote up my request it occured to me if the whole body was hilighted it’d be even better.

So, my request has two parts –
    a) that the line with the matching tag is highlighted when your caret is in/on a tag…
    b) that the body of the tag you’re currently editing is highlighted with a background colour.

Preferably, the colour for a) would be just a darker shade of the light colour used for b)..
I notice that with the instance hilighting in v3, the eclipse devs aren’t afraid to throw some fancy colours into the editors..
