    Hi All,

it makes me mad each time when i must restart tomcat. I must click two menu items using mouse (“Stop Tomcat”, then “Start Tomcat”). I do it 50 times a day. Please make it better: One mouse click or one hot-key.

The second thing is: I don’t want my eclipse jump to the debug perspective each time i click “Start Tomcat”. I need to turn this feature off, but the server should stay in debug mode.

These two features will save much time for many web-appliction’s developers.

    Best regards,
    Igor.

Igor, I would suggest that you navigate to http://localhost:8080 and click the “Manager” link and just use the “Restart” button next to your web app each time instead of restarting Tomcat. I agree that restarting Tomcat is painful, we need to address this feature. But besides just the button, waiting 20seconds every time you restart it is a PIA.

In the mean time you can install the Sysdeo Tomcat plugin for some nice Tomcat controls along side MyEclipse.

    This is an open enhancement.

After we get 3.8 GA out the door, we’re currently considering doing a quick ‘polish’ release that addresses smaller enhancements like this that we haven’t had time to get to because we’ve been adding ‘big’ features.
