I have added JMenuItems to a JMenu object and I cannot figure out how to edit the menu items once they are added to the menu. Could someone tell me how to do this.

If you look at your UI outline view in the Matisse perspective, you should be able to select the Menu Items there and adjust their properties (it cannot be done visually from the designer).
