Is there a way to save all my global settings in a file to give to another user to install, or have them applied automatically after myeclipse installation for another user on a different system and possibly a different directory path. I see a lot of global settings are saved under <workspace>/.mymetadata and <workspace>/.mymetadata/.plugins and the data uses hard-coded path names. How, can I preserve these for another user, with their own path-names?

    akolchinsky,
You can use import/export to gather all preferences. From the menu bar select File > Export. In the new window that opens go to General > Preferences > Next. the wizard will guide you through the process. Similarly you can use “Import” to get all the preferences.
Let me know if that helps.
