eugenejsnParticipantJust migrated my workspace from IBM RAD to ME. Before I used Websphere 8. But now, I want to use Jboss AS 7.
My question, how can I create the new JBoss server? Previously when I used the IBM RAD, I could right-mouse click on the server panel, then select new server. But for ME, I could not find the equivalent. Then what is the way to do it?
Also, I intend to run the codes changes from the workspace directly, instead of deploy the EAR each everytime, can I do it (In IBM RAD, everytime the change is made I can test the effect from the workspace right away)?
Thanks
Eugene
support-pradeepMemberEugene,
In our latest version MyEclipse 2015 CI (based on Eclipse Luna), new server can be configured by right clicking in the servers view and selecting New > Server or navigate to File > New > Other > Other > Server and click Next.
For MyEclipse 2014 and earlier versions, you can configure a server from Window > Preferences > MyEclipse > Servers.

MyEclipse does support hot deployment. For the hot deployment to work, make sure that you are starting the server in debug mode. Also, make sure that “Project -> Build Automatically” is switched. Hot code replacement works (only?) if automatic build is switched on.
Hope this helps and let us know if you see any issues.
eugenejsnParticipantI just downloaded the MyEclipse Blue 2014 from your site.
1) Can I upgrade it to MyEclipse 2015 CI from the Blue version later when the 2015 CI become stable?
2) Is the MyEclipse 2015 CI a free software for use without the 30-day trial limitation? The reason I ask this question is that all the subscription-based ME are 2014 version. So I wonder, if the MyEclipse 2015 CI is for the enthusiasts to try. In order to get the subscription-based support, one can only download and use the 2014 version. Correct?
Thanks
Eugene

You need to install MyEclipse 2015 CI separately and can use the same Blue license, if you have any.

MyElipse 2015 CI is also subscription based and is a free software with 30 days trial. It is a unified product which includes advanced WebSphere and Spring features traditionally found in the Blue Edition and MyEclipse for Spring products respectively. While you still need the corresponding license to access these features, you no longer need to install a different product – all functionality is included in 2015 CI.
Hope this helps.
support-tonyKeymasterEugene,
Just to confirm Pradeep’s last reply, as part of it might be confusing. MyEclipse is not free software. However, you can use it for 30 days without a license, in order to see if is what you need. After those 30 days, you will need to purchace a license to continue using MyEclipse. This applies to all releases and editions of MyEclipse.
