Does the latest version of MyEclipse i.e. 6.5M1 supports the development of JSF portlet?

Yes. MyEclipse 6.5M1 supports portlet development. We are working on the Quickstart docs for portlet development with MyEclipse and they would be available on our Educational Material site very soon,

Is there any other references/documents which I can refer for JSF portlet development in the mean time?

There is nothing specific to MyEclipse. You can google a portlet development tutorial.

Does MyEclipse 6.5M1 supports the JSF portlet(not general JSR-168capability) creation?

Because when I tried to add a Portlet to the web project through New->Portlet option, I am able to create only JSR-168 portlet. How would i create a JSF portlet specifically in MyEclipse IDE? Any help regarding this will be helpful.

    Regards,

Im sorry for the miscommunication. MyEclipse pro supports only the basic JSR 168/Portlet development. MyEclipse Blue supports JSR 168 + WebSphere Portal portlet development.

    Thanks for the clarification.
Will the JSF portlet development support will be there in the next version of the product release?

    Thanks,
    Elango
