    Thanks Wayne for your feedback.

I have another question. I just finish building my first apps and have successfully register with Google Play. Should have no problem to publish it.

My question is for iOS, i am going to register for a iOS developer licence. once i get it i will be able to generate my ipa files. I do not plan to upload to the Apple AppStore, can my user download the ipa file (from my server) and be able to install and run it just like my android apk.

Hi Fchong. You have three options:

    1) You are free to distribute your app among pre-registered set of devices (see provisioning profile) without uploading app to appstore, so called ad-hoc method.

    2) Using the iOS Enterprise Program, which is like having your own private app store that’s allowed by iOS license but requires very special setup. This is really targeted at big companies. See https://developer.apple.com/programs/ios/enterprise/

    3) Another case is to use non-official app stores. But note that users must jailbreak their device. We don’t support this, but you should be able to find many instructions how-to-do in the net.

The easiest at fastest way to get ipa´s on you iphone is:

    Jailbreak device with greenp0ison
Install WinSCP for data transfer of IPA
    Install App from Cydia “Installous”

    Install app through Installous.

    Good luck 🙂

hi, thanks for the reply, does that means that every iPhone that need to download our apps will need to jail break the device.

if that is true, then could be a problem too as too tedious to ask client to do that.

So, for iOS device, looks like the only way is thru the upload to App Store. We just worry that they might not approve our apps

    hi Wayne

From the description that i read in the learning centre for the provisioning of the adhoc licence, we will need a UDID.

Yes, the UDID is required when defining your devices in the Apple Provision Portal. See the screenshot below of the new device configuration page. See attachment devices-provision-portal.png
