rick.gommersMemberHi all,
I’m having a huge problem. I want to export the .mobi files to a collegue, but when I do so none of my custom code will work.
Even when I make a complete copy of my project folder and open it on another computer it seems to regenerate the custom.js file instead of using the one that resides in the project folder.
Next thing I tried is the ‘add additional project files’. Does not help anything.
Also, I spot an inconsistency between the javascript onclick editors on the 2 machines:
On the original laptop I work with I can edit these onclick methods:
On my test laptop I can only see one line and it’s also disabled:
Could that have anything to do with it? Could it be that only that first line is ‘executed’ and the others not?
How do I export my complete project so someone else can use/edit exactly the same files as I do?
Thx in advance!
BrandonMemberAre you making sure you include the generated www folder as well?
Also, make sure that they have it set to the same targeted startup screen.

Yes, I just zipped the entire project folder, including the WWW folder.

Yes, both systems have the same startup screen.
support-octavioMemberHi marcoevich,
>On the original laptop I work with I can edit these onclick methods:
Can you share if both machines are running same Mobione version?
Also, does one of the .mobi files has a readonly attr? Could you share that .mobi file with us to investigate? If you want to keep data in privacy send it to support at genuitec dot com, use title mobione data from marcoevich
Paul_paulParticipantIf this is the cause it may resolve the problem of a new custom.js file being generated, then again it may not but I have had this happen to me before.
Make a copy of the custom.js file that contains your code. Then in the build screen after the ‘files and data’ have been generated by m1 and before you fill in the ‘digital signatures’ switch to your file manager or whatever it is they call it these days and copy the file you saved into the www folder of your project to replace the one generated. Then return to M1 and continue the build. Your project will then be built with the correct custom.js file.
rick.gommersMemberI think I’ve got the cause.
I’ve disabled the m1- prefix on my development machine. This is a setting that is standard ON so on my test machine it would not work because the custom.js code was missing the prefix all over the place.
I’ve sent the new files to my collegue now. I’ll let you know if she can open them 🙂
rick.gommersMemberHmm I just got news from my collegue. Apparantly she still can’t use the app as it won’t recognize the code in the custom.js.
This makes me wonder.. how do you guys @genuitec work together on the same project if you can’t distribute files between each other?
I’ll post this as a feature request: Please make an export option so we can generate one file, a .mobi file for example, with all project code and settings in it. Think of it like a .jar for java projects. This will prevent incompatibility with settings in different MobiOne installations and we won’t have to copy over www folders again.
support-octavioMemberHi marcoevich,
Could you share your project files with us to investigate? So we can isolate if the problem is with your design files or with a Mobione installation.
rick.gommersMemberHi Octavio,
Thx for looking into this. I’ve send you an email to support at genuitec dot com titled ‘Mobione data from Marcoevich’.
rick.gommersMemberHi Octavio,
You have 2 open email tickets from me. One is titled ‘Mobi one data from marcoevich’, the other has ticket number #VXV-470-25246
Would you be so kind to answer those?
Edit: Octavio, the disabled Javascript editor in the screenshot above is bothering me. Could that be part of the issue that disables functions of an exported project?
Thx in advance! 🙂
support-octavioMemberHi marcoevich,
I am wondering if you still have this issue? I have requested some files that might help us replicate the problems you are seeing with the mobile simulator and mobione: http://www.genuitec.com/support-genuitec/viewtopic.php?p=24215#p24215
But since I haven’t hear from you on this matter I can’t be sure if you fixed the problem with reinstalling mobione or something else, so please let us know if you still need help, if yes please provide requested folder to start investigating.
rick.gommersMemberHi Octavio,
You have already answered the 2 emails I send you, these problems are solved.
The disabled javascript editor problem somehow solved itself.. I don’t have a clue how I did it, but from one day to another I could use the javascript editor on both pc’s again 🙂
About the simulator problem in the topic you linked.. I do not know what exactly causes this error. But it’s not a big deal for me. If any problem occurrs I just reload the simulator and 9/10 times it works immediately after reload.
I did spot another auto refresh problem, but I don’t know if it’s designed this way? My changes in javascript will get pushed to the simulator immediately after editing, but changes made in design center (e.g. changes in layout) will NOT get pushed to the simulator. For these changes to become visible I’ve to restart the simulator.
Hope this helps 😉
support-octavioMemberHi marcoevich,
>I did spot another auto refresh problem, but I don’t know if it’s designed this way?
Yes, this is due to the Auto-reload Mobile Web Simulator option. You can turn on/off this setting on Tools Menu > Auto-reload Mobile Web Simulator>My changes in javascript will get pushed to the simulator immediately after editing, but changes made in design center (e.g. changes in layout) will NOT get pushed to the simulator. For these changes to become visible I’ve to restart the simulator.
This happens because Mobione needs to regenerate the html/css code for your design. -
