I finally discovered what has been goin wrong for me: MyEclipse doesn’t use the standard “c:\eclipse” folder location for the plugins and stuff, even though there was a “dropins” folder in the “c:\eclipse” folder. In fact, all the plugins and such are actually found in “C:\Program Files (x86)\Genuitec\Common” and “C:\Program Files (x86)\Genuitec\Profiles\MyEclipse 8.0\dropins”. I was not able to find any documentation that described this in any of my searches, so I assumed MyEclipse would be setup just like standard Eclipse, hence my extreme frustration. Any way the documentation bits that describe installing “dropins” could mention that MyEclipse uses non-standard folders? I’d have a full week of work done had I not wasted so much time getting the IDE running correctly.

    tharrisxx,

Sorry to hear you had to spend a week to locate your MyEclipse installation dir. This is the default directory, and at the time of installation it prompts you to choose the same. Good to hear you are all set.

    Best.
