I tried to model a self-transition in a state diagram by dragging a state transition from a “State A” back to the same “State A” but this does not work.
The workaround I found is to drag a state transition from “State A” to a “State B” and then re-drag the arrow from “State B” to “State A”. But this is not very efficient.

Can somebody give me a hint how I can directly edit self-transitions?

In the editor toolbar, select the ‘New Transition’ tool. Click inside a state, drag the line outside the state, release the mouse button, then click an other time outside the state, and do a final click inside the state. You created a self-transition.
