In MyEclipse 5.5M1 the HQL-Editor fails with

    “Error Creating Configuration”
“…. Reason: An AnnotationConfiguration instance is required to use <mapping class=”…myclass” />”

You are correct.MyEclipse HQL Editor doesn’t support annotations for now

When can we expect it? MyEclipse is not nearly as usefull as I’d hoped, as it is too far behind current releases of the tools we use:

    Hibernate (3.2 with annotations)
    Tapestry (4.1, still doesn’t support 4.0)

If the HQL Editor at least supported our Hibernate classes, that would be worth it for us, but it doesn’t, and I don’t see it on the roadmap.

Personally, I’d like to see MyEclipse focus more on keeping up with the development libraries it supports than on new-project and installation fluff. It’s customers are developers, after all, not end users.

I would also like to see annotations supported in the HQL and Criteria editors.
This would simplify maintenance because all information about a persistent class is in one file.
