Assume two files, .classpath and org.eclipse.wst.common.components.
.classpath is already checked in to version control system, org.eclipse.wst.common.components is totally new and not known in vcs.

When activating synchronization, the presentation of both files will be the same in spite of the different state of both files – as shown in the attached picture.
As far as I remember, in ME 8.6. the presentation was different depending on the file’s vcs state.

How can I set up MyEclipse/Eclipse/VCS/whatsoever to make it show me different icons or icon decoration?

    Working with ME 9.1 (64bit).

    Thank you for your help.

    Michael,

Make sure that you have enabled your vcs decorations. Go to Window->Preferences->General->Appearance->Label Decorations and ensure that your vcs box is ticked (e.g. CVS, SVN, etc.). Individual decoration preferences may be altered by going to Window->Preferences->Team->CVS (or SVN or your vcs)->Label Decorations. You should be able to set your own preferences.

The defaults are usually adequate and I’m quite surprised that you get no decorations of the type you want, already. Anyway check those preferences out.

This is a general eclipse issue or specific vcs issue, rather than a MyEclipse issue so you may get better support from an eclipse forum or a forum dedicated to your vcs.
