    Hi,
Is MyEclipse able to import a Visio UML class diagram, say via XMI ?

If the answer is no, then what other free or inexpensive UML tools/IDEs are available that have the ability to import Visio UML Class diagrams ?

Thanks in advance for any insights/solutions …

    R,
    Conrad

    Conrad,
Yes actually once you create a new UMR file, look up at the UML menu, there is an Import XMI option right there. After doing so, your model will be populated, and from there you can DnD the model entities onto the UML diagram to re-create the graphical representations.

    Hi rkalla,
okay, i tried to take the time to understand your reply. I understand that MyEclipse has the ability to “import XMI” – however, that would require the existence of an XMI file. When I go to the source (Visio 2003 UML Class diagram file), I cannot seem to get Visio to export/produce an XMI file. So the question then becomes – How do I get Visio 2003 to spew an XMI file ??

    thanks,
    Conrad

    Conrad,
Unfortunately I have no idea. I’m not familiar with Visio. Sorry.
