CelticPrinceMemberThe install claims to have finished, but with errors. The message refers to a log file that I can not find anywhere on my system. Worse, each time that I fire up eclipse by running the eclipse executable, it “finishes the install”. All of my previous settings are lost!!
I am trying to install this on SuSE 8.2.
Scott AndersonParticipantFirst, I’m sorry you’re having this problem and I’ll do my best to help.
I know there is a GTK patch for SuSE 8.2 that came up in this thread,
https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/suse-linux-problem-with-xdoclet-ui-closed/&highlight=suseThe quote from it is below
For the Gtk2.2 ( SWT used it) must be a Patch (Suse 8.2) installed on my Machine :
GtkTreeView Bug (infinite exposure loops) http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106311
Now all works fine. However, I don’t know if this would affect the installer operation or not. One problem we’ve found using InstallAnywhere on Linux is that it actually sorts the path variable to figure out which JDK to use for the installer. This issue is documented in this thread:
https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/help-needed-cannot-install-trial-version-closed/&highlight=suseYou can either try the workarounds in the last post, or simply uninstall and use the Eclipse installation / update manager to install the product by pointing the installation manager to our update site at:

CelticPrinceMemberI already have the latest Gtk2.2 patch from SuSE. My gtk version is 2.2.1-77. I uninstalled the MyEclipse workbench, and opened up Eclipse to do run the installation / update manager, but I coudn’t see how to point to your update site.
Can you give me instructions on how to do that?
Thanks.
Scott AndersonParticipantCan you give me instructions on how to do that?
Launch Eclipse
Close All open perspectives
Open the Install / Update Perspective
In the Feature Updates view, right-click and select New > Site Bookmark
Enter MyEclipse for the name and
http://www.myeclipseide.com/products/eworkbench/updates/ for the URL
Select Finish
Expand the new entry until you see MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench 2.5.1
Click the ‘Install Now’ button in the Preview view. That should install the software and prompt you to restart Eclipse. Once restarted, you can open the MyEclipse Perspective and any others you like to begin using the software.
