support-tonyKeymasterDefinitely, this is how a lot of the developers and support team actually help to answer your questions; we have many releases and editions installed on our computers.
Please refer to a separate FAQ on file and folder locations to understand where MyEclipse installs itself if all default locations are used.
During installation, you can change the target location for the install. You can also install several instances of the same release, though there is not usually a good reason to do this. However, by default, installing a release that has already been installed will result in the installer offering a repair or upgrade service. To install a separate copy, edit or delete the .deliverycenter.installs file in your home folder.
When installing multiple releases or editions, and when installing multiple instances of the same release or edition, there is no need to worry about workspace settings being lost as these are all held in the workspace itself and you will be able to load any workspace with the same release of MyEclipse that created it, or any later release, including any edition of any release. However, it is possible that later releases may upgrade your workspace (and project settings), which may cause problems if you want to open it again in the earlier release. In this case, it may be wise to create a backup copy of your workspace.
If you are installing MyEclipse via an update site (or archived update site), then you will be installing into an existing eclipse installation. Multiple installations of eclipse are also possible, though the details are outside the scope of this FAQ.
