bgscmsMemberHello
We have purchased 20 copies of MobiOne to install in our computer lab to have students learn how to create apps. Your software installs into a user fold instead of in Program Files folder which does not allow other students to get access to the software. Can you help us so that we can install the software for all users on the computer to use? Thanks.
support-michaelKeymasterI sent this follow up yesterday and not sure if it made it to you
Questions:
1) Will users have their own account or share a guest account when accessing mobione?2) Will users access mobione via a shared drive or network share?

Hi Brian,Can you share a few details about your desired mobione installation and usage configuration?
A few basics about MobiOne’s installation:
1) the MobiOne installer/updater currently restricts installation to non-readonly directories due to the integrated update system will fail for directories such as c:\Program Files since
2) MobiOne will create and use a private workarea under the user’s home directory such as C:\Users\Wayne\.mobione
In this directory is stored the license key datafile and user and program dataBased on your installation requirements I can make some recommendations.

bgscmsMemberHi Wayne,
I am the network admin at LHP and will assist Brian in, hopefully, getting this up and running for his class.
Let me know if you need any other information – thxI sent this follow up yesterday and not sure if it made it to you
Questions:
1) Will users have their own account or share a guest account when accessing mobione? Ideally, they will have their own account since this is how we track web activity and their personal documents are also redirected to a shared network location for backup.2) Will users access mobione via a shared drive or network share? We can certainly set that up if that would allow each student to use their own AD login and not a shared account (just need directions on how to best set that up since many users would be accessing the executable simultaneously).

A few basics about MobiOne’s installation:
1) the MobiOne installer/updater currently restricts installation to non-readonly directories due to the integrated update system will fail for directories such as c:\Program Files since — We can install it in the root folder and I did this to one machine as a test c:\MobiOne but—-
2) MobiOne will create and use a private workarea under the user’s home directory such as C:\Users\Wayne\.mobione
In this directory is stored the license key datafile and user and program data — this is where we are stopped since the licensing information is stored inside each user account so while we could certainly put the license in each time, we were fearful that the license belongs to the “user” and not the “machine” and he would run out of his 18 licenses after he setup just 3 machines since there are multiple times per day a different user would login to use the program.Based on your installation requirements I can make some recommendations.
Brian and I can continue to check the posts or if you could possibly email us directly a solution.
I am also available during the day since I am not a teacher – thanks again and look forward to your reply~
