Step 1) Install Eclipse.

I downloaded Eclipse 8.5 all-in-one from the site.
Note: I don’t see SoftwareUpdates under Help.

Step 2) Installing checkstyle.
I downloaded checkstyle from:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/eclipse-cs/files/Eclipse%20Checkstyle%20Plug-in/5.1.0/net.sf.eclipsecs-5.1.0.201002232103-updatesite.zip/download

Then, I unzipped it under dropins folder. It creates plugins folder and features folder with jars.

Step 3) I restarted the Eclipse. Plugins are not discovered.

What should I do?

Can you please check if checkstyle plugin for Eclipse mentioned above is compatible to Eclipse 3.5.1. classic. I added the same to Eclipse 3.5.1/dropins and I see that it doesn’t recognize it. I think this could be due to compatibility issue.

You need to add plugins to MyEclipse 8.5 which are compatible to Eclipse 3.5.2 classic.
