    Hi guys,

I have just downloaded the 8.0 GA and because the whole Pulse thingy is kind of unknown to me I am wondering if I can install the 8.0GA to run side-by-side with an older MyEclipse version (7.5).

By navigating my directories I have noticed that:
    – MyEclipse 7.5 is installed in: /Library/Genuitec/MyEclipse 7.5
    – there is a directory /Library/Genuitec/Common
    – there is a directory /Library/Genuitec/Pulse Explorer

The 8.0 GA installed suggests that I should be using the following 2 directories:
    – Install location: /Library/Genuitec/MyEclipse 8.x Latest
    – Common software: /Library/Genuitec/Common

I am somehow worried that once I use this setup the things in Common will just stop working with the existing 7.5 installation.

Can you please send me to the documentation on how to get this installation or at least provide a quick guide in here?

    Many thanks in advance,

    ./alex

Just a quick update for anyone reading this thread: it looks like Pulse is able to manage both versions even if it is using that common directory.

I’d really like to see some documentation on how Pulse is working. I’ve skimmed over all posts on the MyEclipse blog tagged as Pulse but couldn’t find any hints.

    Alex,
Yes, you can install multiple versions of MyEclipse together but Im afraid we don’t have any end-user technical explanation of how Pulse works. Sorry about that.
