    Hi,

I was just wondering whether it was possible to specify which engine to use as the internal browser, i.e. when previewing html-type code. The preferences have a choice for which browser to use when opening a page externally, but internally, it seems that on win32 systems it uses IE, even when IE isn’t one’s default browser. What does it do on non-Windows systems where IE isn’t necessarily present? And can I get it to use something other than IE for internal previews on Windows?

    Cheers,

    Amos

The internal browser reuses the SWT Browser widget supplied by the Eclipse Platform team. The SWT Browser currently only supports IE on windows. The Browser widget uses Mozilla on linux and Safari on Max OS X, etc. However, there is an enhancement request for the Eclipse Platform team to support Mozilla on windows in addition to IE.

Once the Eclipse SWT Browser supports mozilla it would be possible that the Internal Browser in MyEclipse could support it as well.

Thanks Greg, I’ll keep an eye out for that enhancement to come through.
