Unknown AuthorParticipantFor all the hard work that the Mobione dev team is puting into updating the back-end compilers, it’s all moot if your users cannot take advantage of iOS 7 widgets. Why would anyone want to publish an app with iOS 7 in-app browser, alerts and comboboxes, only to then add iOS 6 buttons, lists and headers. It makes no sense to update any apps until a complete look-and-feel is in place. These are changes that everyone has known were coming for a very long time now. It would be completely irresponsible for Genuitec to not have a plan for iOS 7 widgets. Can you release any details of when those widgets will be usable by your loyal developer base?

TurgutGuneysuMemberI second the sentiment 1TC.
As a partial solution, I was able to combine image-buttons with flat design model color schemes to achieve a more 7-like look on my APP. Also using transparency option on the TABBar allowed a similar 7-like look, as well as a level of layered 3d look that Apple is suggesting. Granted NONE of this is anything close to actual IOS7 look and feel, just gets one a bit further away from the alien-like IOS6 look.
It is also curious that LATELY, I have been bombarded by Genuitec Product Mgr emails, prompting me to try out their Eclipse product. I really do not have the time and energy to yet try another tool to overcome a product deficiency.
Maybe that is their way of upgrading the MobiOne user base.

I hear ya on this and we have plans but can’t say much atm. Before you go beating up on us take a min and consider the environment all of us are in with apple and their feb-1 ios7 requirements. NONE OF US has a crystal ball about what apple itunes reviewers will or will not accept, e.g. emulated ios7 widget look & feel. Given that, we decided to wait and see rather than burn a lot of our time and investment to create nice looking solutions that still may not technically clear the ambiguous bar that apple sets for itunes acceptance. We need our mobione investments to payoff or we will not be here much longer. So we are not racing into the unknown with a big investment that apple has the final say on if we are allowed to be successful with their platform using the html5/cordova technology. Once we are confident that it is worth the investment then we’ll pull the trigger and upgrade.
While not ideal, a short term work around is to style the widgets to the flat ios7 theme, use list in place of rounded lists and custom button to create styled back and general push buttons including round buttons. This will get you moving towards an ios7 look & feel.

Our marketing guys want to make you aware of genuitec’s scope of mobile dev tools. MyEclipse mobile tools will eventually be the future direction of genuitec. We have a series of big enhancements planned for the MyEclipse 2015, e.g., local builds, include your own cordova plugins in your project, native app debugging, web service integration & testing, db tools … cool stuff like that. So while waiting to see what apples feb-1 behavior will be we have been focusing our efforts and investment on things that we can control which have been myeclipse enhancements (betas start in late march) and mobione maintenance (e.g., android 4.4 is out with its own new quirks).
Unknown AuthorParticipantWhat is Eclypse and how is it different from Mobione? There’s been lots of chatter and tweets and emails about it, but no one has ever explained what Eclypse is or why Mobione users would be interested in it.
paulDMemberI have uploaded 2 apps today for Apple review so i will wait with bated breath whether my design meets the Apple criteria. I did do a lot of work on the design getting it as far as could away from the old IOS 6 look and feel.
I used a lot of flat colours and made use of the many IOS 7 icon photoshop templates available on the net. I used image buttons with the IOS 7 icons to give a nice feel to the app. And since the fix to the app builder the app uses the native combobox once loaded to the device so it looks pretty good (i think).
Personally i think Apples decision to force a design look and feel is a terrible thing to do. It stifles creativity making all apps look the same. Makes me smile that their decision to take Flash out of the game has produced an even bigger threat to the app store with all the Open source tools for producing apps. Now they are desperately trying to use IOS operating system to close the door on that. A word which rimes with bankers springs to mind.
paulDMemberSo is the plan to intergrate the drag and drop UI builder and simulator from M1 into Eclipse and offer that as a sort of professional version utilising the cordova plugins for push notifications, data…… Ect……..
Paul_paulParticipantI just updated 2 apps from last year without any design changes and they were both accepted, I don’t think we should be worrying too much. Nevertheless I would still like to see some iOS 7 style widgets and icons available on M1.
