The recent upgrade to my 4S to iOS7 has burnt out the wifi chip according to Apple ‘Genius’s’. This will now cost me $200 to replace as my phone is out of warranty. After talking to AT&T it seems my best bet is to cancel my contract and pay the $175 and sign up with a different company and get a free phone. Sadly, even the Customer support rep agreed. So at this time my phone is somewhat dead in the water and all of my development is stopping. This includes my MobiOne Cheatsheet and Mobius blog for the time being until I decide what I am doing, as I think it wrong to release software that breaks your product and then requires you customer to pay for it.

I upgraded my 4S to iOS 7 with no issues at all.

Yes, its not all of them. The Apple people are not sure how many yet, and not sure which ones or why they are being broke. I do know a few people that have upgraded without a problem, I also know one other that was broke with it.
My advice is to proceed with caution.

Yikes! That smarts to loose a device from an upgrade.
I have updated several of our devices include an iphone4, not an iphone4s yet.

Yeah. Apparently from what Im seeing its only those who upgraded over wifi, not sure about what devices were hit though. Apple and AT&T has been way less than helpful. Enough so that I will probably be ditching my iphone for an android and keeping the iphone only for testing.

I’m so glad I had the 4s instead!
