dcssMemberWe are unable to open a PDF files from urls when using Go to URL/Current window option or using Javascript or Popup No Control/Address bar option when installed on Android Phones using the latest version of Mobione 2.6.3.
The same PDF file opens in Apple Phones.
Please let us know what is the best way to open PDF files from url either in Current Window or Popup No Control/Address bar option.

dcssMemberWe need a solution as soon as possible as we have made major enhancement to our mobile web application which shows pdf statements and this is web application is called from Hybrid Mobile App created using Mobione.
support-octavioMemberHi Ram,
I have tested the url included in your report on android 4.4 and 4.1, they both didn’t show problems. Can you share your device model and android version?
dcssMemberWe have tested the Mobile app on Samsung Galaxy III and HTC one x phones, Android Version 4.04. On both of these phones, we are unable to open the PDF from URL’s.
Please let us know if you can test the attached mobi one file and let us know if its working. I am attaching the sample app that we are testing with.
Thanks,

dcssMemberIf you open the url directly on an app using a browser, the pdf file opens fine.
Our issue is when you install the openremotesite app on Samsung III and HTC one X, Android version 4.04, the state web site which has PDF links are not downloading or either opening when using the current window or using Javascript option.
Thanks,
Ram
dcssMemberAs per your post on Fri Nov 30, 2012 below, it was mentioned that Rendering PDFs has never worked on android for this Cordova/Childbrowser combination and Mobione will be including the PDF viewer plugin.
Please let us know if you have a workaround solution that fits our needs to open PDF documents from links on Hybrid App either with Current Window or Pop-up window option ?
Looking forward to hear from Mobione support team.
Thanks,

>I’ve gotten the popup feature work with pdf files in the past, but I can’t get it working now, I suspect that could be a bug, we’re researching and will follow up with you as soon as I know more.
This is an incorrect statement. MobiOne HTML5 apps use Cordova/Phonegap with the Childbrowser plugin. Rendering PDFs has never worked on android for this Cordova/Childbrowser combination. We are investigating inclusion of a PDF viewer plugin now. This is preliminary and no timeframe is available on when PDFs will be supported.

dcssMemberMobione support team,
Please let us know if Mobione has a solution regarding viewing PDF from url when opening using Current Window or Javascript on Android devices.
I have attached the Mobione file with the issue for your validation.
Any inputs regrading resolving this issue is really appreciated quickly.

support-octavioMemberHi Ram,
Thanks for sharing the sample project as it made it more clear what you are trying to do.
The InAppBrowser component (GotoURL popup mode) is not able to open a pdf. In a nutshell android must download PDFs to the device before opening them. The default behavior of the InAppBrowser does not support this. We implemented custom logic for the GoTo URL action to be able to load a pdf, but this logic does not extend to the InAppBrowser. What you could do is generate a mobione screen linking your pdf files using the GotoURL popup mode.
dcssMemberThank you for detailed explanation of the issue.
