Lance DrakeMemberHi MyEclipse Developers,
It would be a wonderful addition to the MyEclipse world if it were possible to assign a color to the icon or filename text attributes for (at least) the ONE source file which is being edited – versus the zillions which are created via XDoclet.
Here’s a link to examples http://www.drake.org/LD/other/mecolortags.html for how this feature might allow files listed in the Project Explorer to appear.
My experience is that I have to stop thinking about what I was thinking about and then try and determine WHICH file it is I would like to open and edit in the list of files in the Project Explorer.
If it were possible to right-click on a filename and select a display color for that filename – or cause the little icon to assume a color tint – that would be a great time and mental energy saver when working on a large project.
MacOSX provides this feature for its file system listings and it really works well for me in navigating and otherwise flagging items of interest, import, or special significance.
Thanks!
Riyad KallaMemberLance,
This would most likely be an enhancement to the base Eclipse platform and not likely something we would tackle. However, for something that is designed around this idea, you may want to look at the Mylar project. It’s a really innovative project that is built around the idea of only showing you portions of a project tha tare related to the task at hand. For an introduction check this link out:

Lance DrakeMemberHi Riyad,
THANKS for your helpful response. I’ll take a look at Mylar and whether or not it will fulfill my desire for more visual cues. Also, the feature request I mentioned here will get transferred over to the basic Eclipse platform.
Best Wishes,
Lance
