Hi all,

Could anyone recommend a design tool for JasperReports? There aren’t many I could find but JasperAssistant looks like it could fit the bill. It’s a bit pricey but I don’t mind paying for a well developed product.

Also JasperAssistant says it’s plug-in compatible with Eclipse. Has this been tried and confirmed with Blue?

Bill,

First, I would recommend using MyEclipse Reports as it is a reporting solution that we offer based on BIRT from Actuate – and it is integrated with both MyEclipse and MyEclipse Blue. This tool is also updated about 2-3 times a year, with updates from BIRT being brought back into MyEclipse Reports. I realize you may have considered MyEclipse Reports already or have other requirements pushing you to use Jasper, but wanted to make sure you knew about this feature.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend a Jasper solution, we have not tested any with Blue because we do have our own solution integrated. If they say it is compatible with Eclipse though, I’m sure it will work with Blue too; just make sure you pick the version that is compatible with the version of Eclipse that your Blue installation uses.

Jasper is client requirement.
