latintorrentMemberHello,
just installed Version 4.1.1GA on Eclipse 3.1.2 and was very curious about the Javascript Debugging Feature. But when i start debugging (“DEBUG AS–> Javascript Application”) a html file (the example runmario.html) i get the following error: “Launching failed because the Mozilla browser could not be initialized”
When i see the LOG:
!ENTRY com.genuitec.javascript.debug 4 0 2006-06-13 14:20:04.500
!MESSAGE Launching failed because the Mozilla browser could not be initialized.i installed Mozilla and firefox
any ideas??? please help..
thanks before hand.

Riyad KallaMemberCan you go to your MyEclipse menu, click it, then go to About MyEclipe then Configuration Summary and paste the result here for us?
Also, check your log file (<workspace dir>\.metadata\.log) for exceptions that may shine some light on this failure to us.

fred@adventistcare.orgMemberI have eclipse 3.2 and MyEclipse 5.0M1. under a VMware session. I’ve just installed it and am tring to work thru the mario tutorial. It is certainly possible that I’ve screwed up my configuration,
I configured it to use FireFox as my browser, but now I cannot find where I set that up? 😳
When I try to launch the runmario.html using using the debug->javacript from the context menu. I get a “No Active Browser” error and the browser window is blank. The html shows up in the source tab.
I have not installed any html server (like apache) although I plan to since that is my target production environment.
I’m really stuck at this point, also dazed and confused 🙁

Riyad KallaMemberFred,
I would suggest you perform a clean installation of Eclipse 3.2 GA from eclipse.org and MyEclipse 5.0 Milestone 2 to rule out a lot of possible problems. You must use clean directories (new) when installing the new copies. You can get your preferences and projects from your old workspace by using Export and Import, but be sure to create a new workspace with the new install.July 18, 2006 at 9:50 am #254987
