    Hi,
since day’s it is not possible to install the jBoss Tools in MyEclipse 2015 from marketplace, because a few of that tools are not available.

    1. is there a list which jBoss tools are removed in MyEclipse from version 2013 to 2015?
    2. is there a alternative installation methode for the jBoss Tools? Perhaps a complete download to install locally?
    3. my decition to use MyEclipse was the preconfiguration of some useful features. Some of them was JBoss. Is there a reason why this is not included anymore? Are there special builds planned from Genuitec?

    TIA
    Dirk

    Dirk,

The reason you see these errors is because some plugins in MyEclipse conflict with those in JBoss tools. Rather than include a more recent JBoss tools version, we’re moving towards reducing the JBoss Tools footprint in MyEclipse IDE and changing the configuration in the next 2016 CI release. These changes would allow you to install whatever version (& whatever components) of JBoss Tools you desire, into MyEclipse, as long as they are compatible with the base release of Eclipse that MyEclipse is based on.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused, but I believe the changes we are making in the near future will give you the flexibility you need.

    Hi Brian,
is there a jBoss version available which is working with 2015 version?
Is there a list of all jBoss tools which are removed from 2015 version that I have to reinstall?

    TIA

    Dirk,

I’m afraid not, there isn’t a version of JBoss tools that will work with 2015. As far as JBoss plugins which are removed, we haven’t been operating at that JBoss feature level, so you will find some plugins present, and some missing, though these won’t correspond to complete JBoss features as we don’t expose them in the IDE.

Could you tell me which JBoss tools features are important to you?

From the nature of your question, I guess you are migrating fom 2013 to 2015. If the JBoss tooling is important, might I suggest migrating to 2016 directly? The next version will have the changes I mentioned above.

    Hi Brian,
it is no problem for me to skip the 2015th version. I can use the 2013 version until the 2016 version has an relase candidate. I think I will try the MyEclipse 2016 CI 1 version until then.

    Best regards,
    Dirk
